Blog now active

In setting up this blog I have now completed a project that has been on my mind for ages. Please see this post for an explanation of what it's all about.

Surely the "activeness" of this blog will depend on your catch rate, no?
Is 10% still the standard?
Does this mean that you are going to increase your release rate in a major way?
I am in a catch drought, I must say...has been at least 6 months!!

It's 'active' in the sense that it was previously a work in progress and now it's ready to be seen. I also wanted to put something under today's (okay Saturday's) date linking to the explanatory post, which is dated August 2003, and that was the best title I could come up with.

I would like to get back into wild releasing especially now that I've got more time on my hands and also seem to have ended up with a mountain of books that I need to tame.

I'm slightly miffed because I put pre-numbered labels in the front of an entire box of books to go to charity before I left Australia but lost the piece of paper with the BCIDs and book titles. So there's about 50 books out there that have been pretty much wild-released but do not appear on my bookshefl - obviously I'll see it if anyone makes a journal entry but otherwise they're not there.

I don't know if 10% is still the standard - I thought it was more like one in seven. I don't think my catch rate is any better than anyone else's but it's just that it's fun to track. It's also proof that wild catches do happen for anyone who might be feeling disheartened about it.
